According to Transport Malta (The Sunday Times, November 6), Fleur-de-lys commuters are served by the Rabat route buses 51, 52 and 53. Living in Fleur-de-lys, I know that this is not the case. Onarriving at Birkirkara, these buses go round past the roundabout, in front of the BoV head office, and on towards St Venera.

We were excellently served by the old route bus 71 which left the Birkirkara railway station terminus every 15 minutes.

But Transport Malta has capriciously scrapped this route and replaced it with bus X6, which leaves Ċirkewwa every hour, depending on the Gozo Channel ferry, arriving at Fleur-de-lys at irregular times. This is certainly no service to Fleur-de-lys residents.
