A photographic work-themed competition is being organised for children by the Occupational Health and Safety Authority.

The competition ties in with the OHSA’s 10th anniversary since its establishment which it will be celebrating in January. It will be organising a week of activities between January 23 and 27.

The competition, open for 13 to 16-year-olds, is themed ‘Ix-Xogħol – it-tbatija jew is-sbuħija u d-dinjita` tax-xogħol’ (Work – suffering or beauty and the dignity of work).

The competition is being organised by OHSA in collaboration with the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education. It is open to all students in state and non-state secondary schools. Each school is being invited to submit five photos.

All submitted photos will be put up for public display during a week’s exhibition between January 23 and 27. The schools that place first, second and third will be awarded a set of books on art and photography.

All participants will be given a certificate of participation.

All submissions should be sent to the Occupational Health and Safety Authority at 17, Edgar Ferro Street, Pieta PTA 1533 in an envelope marked Photographic Competition, by November 30.

Each photo needs to be submitted on photographic paper of up to 20 x 30 cm in dimensions, should show the name of the student, his or her age and the school attended on the back of the print in legible permanent marking.
