Top Gear’s host: I’m the new Tiger Woods

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has made light of claims about his private life.

The star is reported to have formed a close friendship with a female colleague from the Top Gear Live team and they were spotted together on several occasions while the production was overseas.

But Mr Clarkson joked to The Sun newspaper: “I’m surprised to find that I’m the new Tiger Woods.” The presenter, who writes a column for the paper, has been married for 18 years to Frances, who is also his manager.

In 2009 golfer Mr Woods was revealed to have had a string of affairs behind the back of his wife, Elin Nordegren.

Mr Clarkson, together with co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond, has visited Norway, Australia and South Africa in recent weeks with the Top Gear arena show.
