Jamie Oliver’s hit book 30 Minute Meals has gobbled up another new record after topping the charts for half a year.

It has now been at the top of the hardback non-fiction chart for 27 weeks, surpassing Lynne Truss’s Eats, Shoots & Leaves.

Mr Oliver’s book has already become Britain’s biggest selling non-fiction title of all time.

To date, publisher Michael Joseph/Penguin has sold more than 1.5 million copies of Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals in the UK alone. No other non-fiction title has sold as well in just hardback or in a single edition, according to the company.

Ms Truss’s book topped the best-seller list for 25 weeks from 2003 to 2004.

Mr Oliver’s book – which accompanied a Channel 4 series – has been a publishing phenomenon since it was published in September with its unbroken span at the top.

The run shows no sign of slowing and the book was given a further boost in the run-up to Mother’s Day, with sales rising 63 per cent week on week, according to publishing industry magazine The Bookseller.
