The St Andrew Society held its annual Burns supper last week at the Corinthia Marina Hotel, St Julian’s to celebrate the birth of Scottish poet Robert Burns.

The top table was led by society president Helen MacLachlan, who sat with the society’s guests – British High Commissioner Louise Stanton and society patron Prof. John J. Cremona.

A five-course meal, served by Corinthia staff, was addressed by Innes Rae.

The ‘Immortal Memory’ address was written and presented by Ms MacLachlan, with John Lejman providing the voice of Burns.

The address focused on Burns’ love letters to NancyMcElhose. Some of Burns’ love songs were also sung during the address.

The ‘Toast Tae the Lassies’ was given by Mohab Fahmi.
