It said it was organising the exercise in collaboration with other entities, including Air Malta, the Armed Forces of Malta, the Civil Aviation Directorate, the Civil Protection Department, the Department of Information, Mater Dei's Emergency Services, Emirates, Lufthansa, Malta Air Traffic Services, the police force, Servisair, GlobeGround Malta, other airline representatives, other private agencies and non-governmental organisations.

The exercise is aimed at assessing the level of preparedness of all entities involved, and reflected MIA’s commitment to safety and security. It is being held according to strict standards stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
