Go has teamed up with fervent Italy supporter Joe Pellegrini to offer a football fan the opportunity of a lifetime: own a Fifa World Cup trophy replica signed by Italian luminary players.

Other items up for grabs in the Be A Champion for Charity auction include autographed and framed football kits of Italy favourites Gianluigi Buffon and Alessandro Del Piero as well as their autographed prints together with that of Fabio Cannavaro.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The autographs were obtained during Mr Pellegrini's recent visits to Turin to meet the Juventus team.

The trophy is 400 mm high and 180 mm wide and weighs 5.65kg.

Go has arranged for public viewing of the World Cup trophy replica and the other signed memorabilia in a number of its retail outlets as follows: today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in South Street Valletta; tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bay Street shopping complex, St George's Bay; Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. in Republic Street, Victoria, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Psaila Street, Birkirkara and Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Antoine de Paule Square, Paola.

Between June 24 and July 4, from 6.30 to 11.30 p.m., the items can be viewed at the Go Trade Fair stand at the Malta Fairs and Conferences Centre (MFCC), Ta' Qali.

The auction will be held on July 5 at the New Dolmen Hotel, Buġibba.
