The Malta Qualifications Council (MQC) has a new website at www.mqc.gov.mt.
The site, developed by Alert Communications, features information about MQC, qualifications frameworks, local and international projects and events. Alert Communications has also integrated the MQC site to the Alert Web Publisher, which enables council staff to easily update content without the intervention of a web designer.
The design is corporate yet modern, making use of icons and buttons on the main page to make the site interactive. Information is easy to access through simple menu navigation on the left. The predominance of white gives the site a simple, clear look, while giving due importance to content.
Also featured is an events registration area.
Set up in December 2005, the overall objective of the MQC is to steer the development of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for lifelong learning and to oversee the training and certification leading to qualifications within the framework that are not already provided for at compulsory education institutions or degree-awarding bodies.
MQC is responsible for defining levels of qualifications and competences within the NQF and for establishing standards related to qualifications within the framework.
