Targa 58 Gran Turismo, a spacious three-cabin, three en suite express cruiser with an optional fourth-crew cabin and en suite, made her world debut at this year's London International Boat Show 2010.

Innovation is at the heart of this boat. The Fairline design team has put together a number of unique systems.

Not only does the roof open the cockpit area to the sky and put the driver and passengers in direct contact with the elements, but the enclosed upper saloon single-level living and galley space can be transformed from an indoor air-conditioned area into an open-air space at the touch of a button.

As the roof glides open, the panoramic three-metre side windows retract and the patio doors effortlessly disappear at the aft end of the saloon, which leads on to the main aft deck to an al fresco dining area.

Other unique features include hydraulic swim-steps which double up as a boarding passerelle, the flush electric bimini top which, when in use, conceals neatly into the structure of the boat, and the dinghy launch system.

This is where the tender is simply automatically cantilevered from the platform into the sea and vice-versa with one simple manoeuvre, leaving a clear solid bathing platform for swimming and playing with no gangways or any obstacles in the way.

At almost 18 metres, the main saloon has plenty of space for comfortable lounging, a galley to the starboard side, plus a helm station equipped for pilot and co-pilot electric seats. Below decks, pioneering design is in evidence everywhere.

By locating the en suite forward of the master cabin, full advantage of the 58's huge beam has been taken to create a stunning cabin for the owner that is the largest and lightest of any yacht this size.
