Pre-sale tickets for the Joseph Calleja - Claudio Baglioni - Dionne Warwick live concert that were made available to those registered on the NnG Promotions website were snapped up, the promoters said yesterday.

The concert will be held on July 24 at The Granaries, in Floriana.

"Judging by the response we've had over these few days since we announced the concert, the forthcoming performance promises to be the biggest musical event this summer.

It is very rare that we have the opportunity to see a live concert by three international musicians of this calibre performing together.

As expected, we've had a very excited reaction from the public and we advise fans to book their tickets so as not to miss out on this one-off opportunity," Nigel Camilleri, of NnG Promotions, said.

This will be the first time that Joseph Calleja, one of Malta's biggest success stories and who enjoys a big following in classical music circles, will be joined by Claudio Baglioni and Dionne Warwick in a concert that will fuse elements of pop with classical.

Claudio Baglioni is one of the most popular Italian musicians and his latest album, QPGA, broke musical boundaries with 52 tracks featuring top international musicians, including Joseph Calleja.

Dionne Warwick is equally renowned, with an illustrious career spanning over four decades that has seen her establish herself as an international hit-maker, thanks to nearly 60 charted hits since her first hit Don't Make Me Over began its climb up the charts back in December 1962.

Besides a unique live performance by the three musicians, the concert will also include a 500-strong children's choir, double that of last year's highly-successful concert held at the Luxol Grounds.
