Sliema Hotsticks 0
Qormi 7

With this emphatic win, Pasta Poiatti Qormi not only consolidated their position at the top of the table but confirmed themselves as clear favourites to win this year's championship.

Qormi could not have had a better start as they took the lead after only seven minutes. Steve Tanti gathered the ball just inside the 22-metre area, dribbled past several Sliema players on the right flank and his low cross across the D was met by Phillip Magri at the far post.

From a similar attack on the 25th minute, Gareth Dimech made no mistake after receiving the ball from Saul Halladay.

After the resumption, Qormi kept pushing for more goals and in the 39th minute, Jonathan Aquilina hit goal no.3 with a neat push shot from the edge of the D.

On 48 minutes, Keith Calleja put Qormi four goals up with a clean hit and Petrovic added a fifth in the 50th minute.

Nine minutes later, Qormi keeper Ramon Chircop denied Sliema a consolation goal when he produced a brilliant one-handed save.

A pass from Dimech set Petrovic up for his second goal as the Qormi player rounded the goalkeeper and placed the ball in an empty net.

Just before the final whistle, Qormi struck their seventh when they were awarded a penalty stroke which was converted by Joseph Cuschieri.

White Hart 5
Rabat Depiro 2

Ta' Soldi Rabat Depiro took the initiative from the word go, pinning their opponents in their own half, but their conclusions left much to be desired.

Slowly, Laferla Insurance White Hart found their feet and in the 31st minute, they opened the scoring when Carl Tua finished off a triangular move that also involved Giancarlo Torpiano and David Agius.

A minute later, Rabat Depiro levelled matters through Kevin Micallef following a short corner action.

In the 34th minute, the same Micallef unpicked the White Hart defence to set up Mark Bugeja who slotted the ball home.

On the stroke of half-time, White Hart won a short corner, and from the resultant action, Luke Borg Costanzi beat Azzopardi with a hit towards the corner of the net to make it 2-2.

In the second half, it was Rabat who could have gone ahead in the 39th minute but Jonathan Micallef missed a sitter at the far post.

A good run by Torpiano opened the way for Borg Costanzi to put White Hart ahead with a diagonal hit.

White Hart kept up the pressure and it was no surprise when, in the 58th minute, they increased their lead thanks to another goal by Borg Costanzi. He met Keith Laferla's pass with a first-time hit that beat the diving Azzopardi.

White Hart sealed the issue with a fifth goal on 67 minutes courtesy of the evergreen Agius.
