Floriana Young Stars started the game on the attack, taking the lead after just five minutes. Marvin Vella met a pass by Christian Bonello at the far post and beat Azzopardi with a reverse tap-in.

Rabat's reaction was immediate. After forcing a series of short corners, they levelled the score on 21 minutes thanks to a hard drive by Shawn Falzon.

Six minutes later, Floriana's Waylin Abdilla saved a point-blank hit from Josef Antonelli and, a minute later, an effort by Mark Bugeja.

In the second half, Rabat were the more enterprising side and pinned their opponents in their half. For their part, Floriana relied on counter-attacks.

In the 51st minute, Luke Busuttil Leaver saw his hit saved by Azzopardi and, at the other end, Abdilla saved off Jonathan Micallef. Rabat persisted with their attacking momentum but found Abdilla in excellent form.

Having taken only three points from four games in the first round, Rabat are in fourth place.

Qormi have opened up a three-point gap at the top after extending their perfect run to four matches.

From the first whistle, Qormi took matters in hand and by the 17th minute were already two goals up. In the 11th minute, a hit at goal by Saul Halladay, following a short corner action, was saved on the line by Simon Agius. The ball to run loose to Piscopo who had no problem slamming the ball home.

Six minutes later, Qormi doubled their lead with a carbon copy of the first goal. This time, Keith Calleja was on hand to hit in.

After this early setback White Hart started to make their presence felt. They pulled one back on 28 minutes through Anthony Roberts after some good spadework by David Agius.

On the resumption, White Hart went all out in search of an equaliser and took the upperhand. But, their hopes were dashed when, in the 46th minute, Qormi forced a short corner against the run of play and John Borg hit in goal no.3.

White Hart again surged forward but they could not find a way past Ramon Chircop in Qormi's goal.

On 58 minutes, White Hart's defence was caught on the wrong foot as Qormi added a fourth goal through Calleja. Three minutes later, White Hart narrowed the deficit through Paul Torpiano.

For the rest of the match, White Hart kept up the pressure but were frustrated time and time again by the Qormi defence and goalkeeper Chircop.
