Moviment Graffitti has called on the government to file an official complaint with the Egyptian government over the treatment of international activists in Egypt.

Graffitti made the appeal during a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza in Palestine in a peaceful demonstration outside the Egyptian Embassy on Tuesday.

Graffitti activist Lana Turner has just returned from the North African country, where she, along with 1,400 protesters from all over the world, attempted to join the people of Gaza in a solidarity march held to mark a year since Israel's devastating bombing of the Gaza Strip.

Protesters descending on Cairo were told by the Egyptian authorities they would not be allowed to join the march. Undeterred, Ms Turner went to border towns Al Arish and Rafah, where she claimed that she herself and others were the victims of brutality by the police and military forces.
