The Civil Court has condemned Naxxar Local Council and the Water Services Corporation to pay €13,196 as damages to a family resident in St Paul Street, Naxxar, and to take remedial action to prevent further sewage and rainwater flooding of their garage.

The family Ronald and Isabelle Camilleri had insitituted legal action after their complaints about flooding following road works went unheeded.

The court established that alterations to a culvert outlet had caused damages to the family.

The court condemned the council and the WSC to pay damages of €13,196 divided equally between them and to re-align the culvert within three months.
