Vodafone has launched the HTC Magic with Google, the compact smartphone with an attractive design that uses the Android platform and offers a superior mobile internet experience.

The new BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone, a new addition to the BlackBerry Curve series, is now also available to Vodafone customers.

The Vodafone HTC Magic sells for €499 and is free on some plans. It features a 3.2-inch touch-sensitive QVGA screen and a trackball and navigation buttons for rapid and easy access. It also includes a variety of e-mail options such as Gmail, POP3 and IMAP and supports Microsoft Exchange for seamless e-mail experience within a corporate environment and Google Talk for instant messaging.

The Vodafone HTC Magic has strong mobile internet capabilities, beginning with a Webkit browser optimised for Android. It also has well-known applications like Google Maps, Google Search and YouTube. Android Market enables users to download games and applications quickly and easily over Vodafone's network.

The slim BlackBerry Curve 8520 provides easy mobile access to e-mail, messaging and popular social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace and features a highly tactile full QWERTY keyboard for comfortable, accurate typing. It also features rich multimedia capabilities and access to music, games and other mobile applications for entertainment on the go.

It introduces an innovative touch-sensitive trackpad, which makes scrolling and selection smooth and is the first BlackBerry to feature dedicated media keys, smoothly integrated along the top of the handset, giving customers an easy, convenient way to control their music and videos.

Vodafone Malta is offering the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone at €270 without a contract, but various discounts are available based on the tariff plan selected. As a special offer at launch, Vodafone Malta will be giving a free prepaid Internet bundle to every customer purchasing a BlackBerry Curve 8520. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone is also being offered free of charge with two of Vodafone Malta's monthly plans.
