The University hosted a week-long training workshop entitled 'Banking and finance in small states: issues and policies' for 24 middle management officials in banking and financial institutions and the public sector from various Commonwealth countries.

It was organised by the University's Islands and Small States Institute in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the Malta-Commonwealth third country training programme.

The course sought to disseminate knowledge and provide training on banking and finance, and enable the participants to share ideas and experiences.
