Federico Mazzolani, professor of structural engineering at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, recently addressed a seminar on seismic vulnerability, earthquake engineering and earthquake resistant structures held by the University's Faculty for the Built Environment for architecture and civil engineering students.

Over the past decades, Prof. Mazzolani has been at the forefront in research and technical developments in structural steel design, design of aluminium structures, seismic engineeing and repair of historic monuments.

He is author of various publications on these subjects, including the book Urban Habitat Constructions Under Catastrophic Events published last October by the University's Department of Building and Civil Engineering.

The seminar was co-ordinated by Ruben Paul Borg of the Department of Building and Civil Engineering, and Alex Torpiano, dean of the Faculty for the Built Environment.
