Mohamed Abu Agile, chairman of the housing and infrastructure board, and Jamal Lamoushi, general secretary of the Libyan general board of fairs, recently visited the Malta Enterprise stand and Maltese companies participating at the Libya Build Fair.

Alan Camilleri, executive chairman of Malta Enterprise, was present for the opening in Tripoli. The fair has become a landmark event in Libya with the participation of over 500 companies from 30 countries.

First time participant Oli Vibra Malta had the opportunity to showcase its products and identify potential partners to strike a commercial relationship. Angela Zammit, managing director of Würth Mediterranean Ltd, said the company was in the process of opening its first retail outlet in Tripoli and believes prospects are very positive.

Paul Dawson, of Ħal Mann International Ltd, noted there are great opportunities for Maltese companies to take advantage of, especially in the building and construction industry. The company has been actively promoting its products and services for the last three years and has tendered for several projects that are at a construction stage.

The companies that formed part of the Malta pavilion promoted a range of products, from elevators, aluminium apertures and works, flexible ducting, tiles and energy-saving lighting to electric vibrating motors, contract furniture and tools and accessories.

The fair also featured a business promotional seminar as part of the Malta Enterprise promotional campaign to create more awareness Maltese enterprises and their products. The seminar was addressed by Joseph Pirotta, chargé d'affairs at the Malta.

Malta Enterprise maintains a dedicated office in Tripoli, which also acts as the commercial office of the Maltese Embassy in Libya.
