Works on the shell structure of the ground floor apartments of the Fort Cambridge project are underway. The major part of the transfer slab has been cast in the earlier months and this gave way for works to commence at ground floor level. The shell structure of the ground floor apartments is expected to be completed by July.

Works on the project are moving at a fast pace. There are approximately over 160 construction workers on site and this is expected to increase by a further 100 workers once plumbers, electricians and plasterers move in. Following months of intensive historical studies , TBA Periti will be submitting the application for the restoration works of the battery on behalf of the developers. Although the company has up to 10 years to restore the battery, efforts are in hand to complete the restoration by the time the project is complete.

Company chairman George Muscat said, "now that the new shareholding agreement has been completed we can concentrate on construction. All works are on schedule and this freehold project will be completed, as planned, by 2011. We are also focusing on aesthetics and green policies, to the extent that the outer walls will have thermal insulation, the air-conditioning system will be water-cooled and the water tanks concealed."
