The Labour Party in a reaction to the ministry's announcement, said this confirmed how families and businesses were being robbed in as far as water and electricity tariffs were concerned.
After having cut fuel prices two months ago, the government was now reducing them again to reflect international prices.
But the government was being obstinate in refusing to reduce the power and water tariffs which came into force on October 1.
It appeared that the government would await the parliamentary debate, requested by the opposition, to announce a minimal reduction in the tariffs.
The PL said it agreed with the 11 trade unions which last Friday insisted that the reduction cannot be small, but must reflect current oil prices.
