A small crowd of people this evening took part in a protest in Republic Street, Valletta, organised by Azzjoni Nazzjonali against the adoption of the Immigration Pact by the European Union.

On Malta's insistence, the Pact includes a clause on burden sharing of migrants by EU member states, albeit voluntarily.

The protest, which was attended by, among others, Norman Lowell, was addressed by AN leader Josie Muscat who, in an obvious reference to the low turnout, said that few were the soldiers of steel although many were those who grumbled and complained.
