My husband and I boarded the bus at Valletta for Golden Bay at 12.05 p.m. on October 2. When we left, sitting near the bus driver was a man who appeared to be an associate. After a short distance the driver stopped so that the man could buy two pastizzi. We continued our journey and when he finished eating he threw the wrapper out of the bus window.

Our mistake was that I complained about littering.

The man told me to shut up at which point he produced a tissue, wiped his mouth, looked at us with a smirk and threw the tissue out as well. I told him he was a rude and ignorant man. The driver stopped the bus, told us he did not want any problems, stood up and told us to get off the bus, which we did.

It is my first experience that the innocent becomes the guilty.
