Joseph Zammit Tabona, chairman of FinanceMalta and of the Malta Stock Exchange, and Alan Camilleri, chairman of Malta Enterprise were the main speakers at a meeting recently, of the Malta All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), hosted by Malta's High Commissioner in London Michael Refalo at the historic St Stephen's Club in Westminster.

Mr Zammit Tabona and Mr Camilleri gave short presentations about the mission and achievements of their respective organisations and the quest to promote Malta and attract more foreign direct investment. The speakers fielded questions and replied to comments from peers and MPs who attended the meeting.

They were followed by Mark Jeffrey, De La Rue director of marketing who traced the history of his company's long association with Malta and its success following it decision to invest and expand operations in the island. The company is in the process of building a new production line for the manufacture of biometric passports.

The Malta APPG is jointly chaired by Michael Clapham MP (Labour) and Jacqui Lait MP (Conservative) while Baroness Lyn Golding (Labour) and Lord Kilclooney (Ulster Unionist) are respectively secretary and treasurer. It is open to members of both Houses of the UK Parliament.

Mr Camilleri and Mr Zammit Tabona's visit was coordinated by Dr Refalo who accompanied them to the Clifford Chance tower block offices in Docklands where they were shown around the company's state-of-the-art conference facilities.
