Giraudo: Former Juventus director Antonio Giraudo could join Renault F1 team manager Flavio Briatore in his bid to buy out Queen's Park Rangers. A member of the trio of directors, along with Luciano Moggi and Roberto Bettega, Giraudo left Juve in the wake of last year's soccer scandal. He has kept his silence over the scandal that saw Juventus demoted to Serie B. He works in London in real estate and it is rumoured he could be tempted back into the football world by Briatore's ambitious plans for QPR.

Dutch Super Cup: Spaniard Gabri struck two minutes before halftime to guide Ajax to a 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven on Saturday, earning them their third consecutive Dutch Super Cup. PSV's failure to clear the ball in their penalty area in the 43rd minute gave Gabri the chance to score from close range, giving Ajax the perfect boost ahead of Wednesday's Champions League qualifier at home to Slavia Prague. The Dutch first division starts next weekend.

Blanco: Champions League hopefuls AEK Athens have signed Argentine striker Ismael Blanco on a four-year deal from Colon de Santa Fe ahead of Wednesday's third qualifying round first-leg tie against Sevilla. The 24-year-old was the top scorer in Argentina's second division last season during a loan spell with Olimpo de Bahia Blanca.

Jones: Derby manager Billy Davies is hoping to conclude a deal for long-time target Kenwyne Jones this week. The Rams have already had two bids rejected by Southampton for the 22-year-old striker, including a club record £5 million offer. Another Southampton midfielder, Jhon Viafara, has also been linked with a move to Pride Park.

Konchesky: Fulham defender Paul Konchesky has hit out at West Ham boss Alan Curbishley, claiming he is "sure" the manager was the reason behind Carlos Tevez's decision to leave the club. Konchesky played under Curbishley at Charlton and West Ham but left the East End club this summer. "There was, and still is, a lot of unhappy players at the club who don't like him. I am one of them and he knows that, and that is why I left the club," Konchesky said. "I know there are a lot of players who don't think he is any good."

Milan: After Christian Abbiati, Milan have also loaned goalkeeper Marco Storari to Spanish side Levante. Milan had already handed Abbiati over to Atletico Madrid on a temporary deal and have struck a similar agreement with another La Liga side. Storari has signed a two-year loan contract with Levante and will undergo a medical today. He was third choice at the club behind Nelson Dida and Zeljko Kalac.
