Quicky went for a summer picnic with his family. He invited his friends Bigtooth, Nibbleface and Burrowcream. They played hide and seek together. Quicky went to hide. Suddenly, an unusual cat came and gave him a fizzy drink, called Fizz Up. He drank it.
All of a sudden a hurricane started. He flew up in the air and landed, with a big bang, in another world. He was in the world of 1942. He arrived in a country called Malta. It was World War II. At that time the English used to rule Malta. All of a sudden, there was a very loud howling noise. He saw humans running into big, stone, underground burrows.
Quicky discovered that this noise was an air raid warning and the burrows were the shelters for the people. He saw an aeroplane dive down to drop a bomb. He ran for his life, dug as fast as he could and went to his own shelter. The bomb nearly hit him. He found some food. He was happy that he started an adventure. He made friends with a rabbit named Fuxa. They played together and had fun. Quicky and Fuxa hid in their shelter when the bombs came down.
On August 15, 1942, Quicky and his girlfriend went to the shore to see how lovely the sea was. A convoy came. The Germans were very angry and fired off a shower of bombs. The convoy still managed to reach the shore. The Maltese were very happy. Quicky and Fuxa found the fizzy drink called Fizz Up. Quicky told Fuxa the story about the drink. He told her that they could go back to Nesquickland. She was an orphan so she was happy to go with him. Then they went back and they married and lived happily ever after.
