Tevez: Talks between Manchester United and West Ham on Carlos Tevez's proposed move to Old Trafford ended in stalemate. A delegation led by West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson met a team led by United lawyer Maurice Watkins at the Premier League's offices in London last night. The talks ended in deadlock however with no agreement reached over the 23-year-old Argentina striker, who flew into Manchester yesterday with the intention of undergoing a medical today.

Coventry: Coventry have been forced to cancel their prestigious home friendly against Juventus after the Italian giants pulled out. The Sky Blues announced last week that the game was due to take place at the Ricoh Arena on July 31. Managing director Paul Fletcher said: "Juventus have shown a real lack of professionalism to cancel the game in this manner after everything was agreed."

Pablo Garcia: Uruguay midfielder Pablo Garcia has been loaned to newly promoted Real Murcia for next season by Real Madrid, the Spanish champions said. The 30-year-old, who was part of the Uruguay squad at the recent Copa America, played on loan at Celta Vigo last season. He joined Real for an estimated 4.5 million euros from Osasuna in July 2005 and played 22 league games for the club before he was offloaded to Celta.

Manchester City: Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Geovanni on a one-year contract, the club said. The 27-year-old, who last played for Brazilian club Cruzeiro, had been on trial at Premier League rivals Portsmouth, and appeared in their friendly match with third division Yeovil last weekend.

Valencia: Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores has left defenders Asier del Horno, David Navarro and Curro Torres out of the pre-season training camp in the Netherlands, increasing speculation that trio could leave the club. Navarro was banned from playing for seven months after running on to the pitch and punching Inter midfielder Nicolas Burdisso following a Champions League game in March.

Andrade fee: Juventus have confirmed they paid Deportivo de La Coruna 10 million euros ($13.80 million) for Portugal central defender Jorge Andrade. Both clubs confirmed the deal last week without revealing details on the fee. Andrade, who has 48 caps for his country, has signed a three-year contract.

Estonia: Estonia named Dane Viggo Jensen as the new coach of its national side yesterday. Jensen, who has initially only signed a six-month contract, takes over from Dutchman Jelle Goes who announced he would not renew his contract after Estonia lost their seventh straight Euro qualifier to England at the beginning of June.

Roque Santa Cruz: Roque Santa Cruz is considering a move to England after the Bayern Munich forward is attracting interest from the likes of Blackburn, Man. City and West Ham. Santa Cruz looks set to leave Bayern after growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities. The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Ottmar Hitzfeld's squad following the arrival of Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose.
