George Bezzina, who asked whether Henry and Wistin Born were the same person (July 3), may find the following interesting.

In 1948 the Dominican Order took over Flores College in Old Bakery Street, Valletta and renamed it St Albert the Great College.

In the 1950s I studied at St Albert the Great College (affectionately known as Il-Garaxx), then in the mid-1950s the college moved to Gesù Nazzarenu in Sliema; Patri Born of the Dominican Order was the headmaster at the time.

Born in Kalkara, Henry was Patri Born's Christian name, but he was also known as Harry and as a Dominican father he was given the name Austin.

Patri Wistin is well known for his Maltese literature and he is most famous for his novel Is-Salib tal-Fidda. He died on August 21, 1986 aged 76 and is buried at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery, Paola.

On Friday, March 5, 1999, the Kalkara Primary C School in St Philomena Street was named Patri Wistin Born in his honour.
