Portsmouth: Premier League side Portsmouth unveiled new strikers David Nugent and John Utaka yesterday in preparation for next season. Both men were signed on four-year contracts, the club said. Their transfer fees were not disclosed.

Cup Venue: France's traditional pre-season event between the League champions and the Cup winners, initially scheduled for China, will be played in Lyon on July 28, the French Professional Football League (LFP) said. The venue was decided by a draw between Ligue 1 champions Olympique Lyon and Cup holders Sochaux, the LFP added in a statement.

France friendly: France will host Morocco at the Stade de France in a friendly on Nov. 16, five days before travelling to Ukraine for their last Euro 2008 qualifying game, the French Federation announced. With 18 points from seven games, Les Bleus are two points clear of world champions Italy at the top of Group B. Ukraine are fourth on 12 points but have one game in hand.

Juninho: Olympique Lyon playmaker Juninho has been ruled out of the squad for this month's Peace Cup in South Korea because of a thigh injury. Lyon will take part in the July 12-21 Peace Cup alongside English Premier League clubs Reading and Bolton Wanderers, K-League side Seongnam, Shimizu S-Pulse (Japan), Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara, Argentina's River Plate and Italy's Udinese.

Owomoyela: Werder Bremen defender Patrick Owomoyela will be out of action for several weeks after suffering a thigh muscle tear in a friendly match, the club said. The 27-year-old Owomoyela, who has 11 caps for Germany, was injured in a 6-0 win over VfL Oldenburg on Tuesday.

Sevilla: Sevilla have reached an agreement with Racing Lens to sign Mali international Seydou Keita, the Primera Liga club said. The 27-year-old is to sign a four-year contract and will be their third recruit of the close season after goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis and midfielder Tom de Mul.
