Girl robbed in subway

An 18-year-old girl from Tarxien was robbed of her handbag while walking through a subway close to the university at the Regional Road, in Msida, early yesterday afternoon, the police said.

The police said they were informed about the theft at about 1.30 p.m.

Preliminary investigations indicated that an unidentified person tried to snatch the girl's handbag while she was walking through the subway.

The girl alleged that at one point her aggressor pointed a weapon in her direction, the police said. Once the handbag was taken from the girl, the aggressor fled.

Nobody was injured.

Police investigations continue.
