Yet another speed camera has been installed, and judging by the amount of flashes one could see by standing close to it for some time on Friday and yesterday morning, the Attard council seems to have hit the jackpot.

The camera has been installed in Notary Zarb Street, and signs leading to it can be clearly seen on the left-hand side of the road as one is approaching the cemetery.

But many drivers are simply failing to see the signs on the side of the road when approaching the camera from the Rabat side because these are partly hidden by trees and motorists are more likely to be looking ahead of them than looking around to see if any new signs have been erected.

The speed limit on the road is 50 kph.

Several drivers phoned The Sunday Times to complain after realising they were booked on seeing the flash - meaning a Lm45 fine - as they drove past the camera. They argued that notices warning about the speed camera should be placed well ahead of it and in places where they can be easily seen.
