A cultural tour to Vittoriosa and Kalkara this Sunday promises to be a haunting experience... literally!

In fact the tour, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, includes visits to many houses in Vittoriosa that were said to be haunted by evil spirits. These include the buildings that housed the Auberge d'Angleterre and the Auberge of the League of France.

In Kalkara, there will be a visit to the historical Fort Rinella, built in 1878 by the British, where visitors will assist to a historical re-enactment with actors in 19th century period costumes of Victorian soldiers.

Tourist Guides Association representatives will guide the participants on the tour around historical buildings and surroundings, houses and the Maritime Museum.

Transport will leave Floriana, next to the Independence Monument, and Sliema, from opposite Jesus of Nazareth church, at 8.45 a.m. Tickets cost Lm4.20 for adults and Lm3.30 for children and senior citizens.

Booking, together with payments, can be made by not later than noon today at the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts offices, 230 Republic Street, Valletta.

More information can be obtained by contacting Noel D'Amato on 2123 2515. Booking forms can also be downloaded from www.maltaculture.com and presented at the MCCA offices together with payment.
