Members of the National Council of Women recently hosted a group of members from the Mainchi Cultural School, Japan, led by Machiko Gose and Yoshico Toba. The visit was co-ordinated by Edward Sammut. The Mainchi Cultural School, through lifelong learning, encourages members to study English.
The school organises a cultural visit abroad every year, so that the students could put into practice their newly acquired skills. This year the school chose Europe, which included Malta in their itinerary.
During the evening there was an exchange of traditional delicatessens, sweets and crafts. It was a great opportunity for all those who participated to learn about the diversities of the Japanese and Maltese cultures.
