Injured sailor flown to hospital

An Italian Military Mission helicopter yesterday ferried a 27-year-old sailor to hospital after he was injured aboard a merchant ship 30 miles east of Delimara point.

Boris Starodobechenko was taken to St Luke's Hospital after Italian and Maltese rescuers, under the command of Col. Pierandrea Andiulli, winched the man to safety.
