Education and Youth Minister Louis Galea yesterday inaugurated an international seminar "Youth Groups... from intercultural to multicultural" organised by the Zghazagh Azzjoni Kattolika together with FIMCAP, the International Catholic Federation of Youth Organisations.

Dr Galea spoke about the importance that youths remained active in society and involved themselves in what was going on, and that the several youth organisations worked more on issues which were of interest to society.

He said it was planned that MCAST students would soon have the opportunity to experience voluntary work in society.

ZAK representative Gordon Pace stressed the importance for more adequate facilities for the organisation of youth initiatives. He also stressed the importance of officially recognising professional youth workers.

The seminar ends on Tuesday.
