This photograph is of a distant relation but I am unable to identify him, the uniforms in the background, when or where the occasion was. I suspect it was taken in the 1960s or 1970s. He is clearly wearing a Maltese Cross on his chest.

The family name is Cumbo and I would be grateful if any of your readers could help put this picture in context. I am from England and my Cumbo family came here via Egypt early last century.

In our branch of the family the Cumbo name has almost died out in the male line, but it would be so good to know others still living in Malta and elsewhere.

If anyone is able to help I would be most grateful.
