A total of Lm6,000 was raised in McDonald's outlets in Malta and Gozo during a recent event, World Children's Day, as part of fund-raising organised worldwide by the fast food chain.

All the money raised locally was donated to the McDonald's Eden Children's Fund in a cheque presented to Josie Muscat, president of the Eden Foundation.

The money will be used to sponsor educational and therapeutic services for children with developmental difficulties participating in the Eden Foundation's Programmes.

Globally, World Children's Day was supported by top celebrities such as Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias, and Nick Carter from the Back Street Boys, to name a few.

In Malta, prominent personalities, suppliers, McDonald's employees and Eden Foundation staff also lent a hand to make the day a success.
