The 2001 waterpolo player of the year Niki Lanzon has pledged to remain with Neptunes for at least the next four years.

The Malta international's signature was being chased by all top clubs but the Balluta Bay side's top scorer for the past years opted to remain with Neptunes, reliable sources told The Sunday Times yesterday.

It is also understood that Neptunes have engaged the national team coach Dirk Dowling to guide them for next season. Last term Dowling also coached Exiles. He replaces former Neptunes' stalwart Tony Camilleri.

Another player who re-signed for the club last week after his contract had expired is Malcolm Azzopardi.

Both Lanzon and Azzopardi are products of the club's nursery.

Meanwhile, Neptunes' goalkeeper Nicky Gouder will be leaving Malta tomorrow for a five-month stay in Hungary during which the 17-year old will be training with prominent Hungarian first division side BVSC.
