On Thursday at 6 p.m., at the Italian Cultural Institute, St George's Square, Valletta, Professor Franco Lanza will present the book L'Islam e la Croce, a novel inspired by historical facts and characters recently published by Marsilio.

The book is by Cristanziano Serricchio, a poet and writer of narrative literature and literary and historical essays. The novel, which is inspired by historical facts and characters, has won the Premio Palazzo al Bosco di Firenze for an unpublished work.

From 1967 to 1980 Professor Lanza served as head of the Department of Modern Languages at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Malta, and on his return to Italy he lectured at the universities of Palermo, Salerno and Viterbo.
