For over 20 years I have been involved on a volunteer basis with an organisation known as Sadhana, based in the district of Mayurbhanj in Orissa State, India. Sadhana works with village communities for the rehabilitation and inclusion of disabled persons from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and with different types and degrees of impairment.

Crucial for achieving the goal of equitable, inclusive communities are the Community Based Rehabilitation Workers (CBRWs) whom we employ and train to be catalysts for change of attitudes as well as trainers of family members in basic rehabilitation interventions.

The Mission Fund, through their regular donations to me as a Maltese missionary, has made it possible for us to employ one additional CBRW who has contributed considerably to creating a favourable environment in villages and thus improving the quality of life of the disabled persons and their families in her area of operation.

I would like to thank the Mission Fund and all the generous persons who make it possible for us missionaries to help the marginalised.

Donations to Mission Fund may be made online or by direct bank transfer to one of the following accounts: HSBC (Account no. 061 197 448 050; BOV (Account no. 163 007 980 19); APS (Account no. 200 008 207 62);  or BNF (Account No. 000 879 631 01).
