Djun, a Maltese-language alternative-rock band, has just launched the music video Il-Bir, the first single from their debut album Il-Ħlas. The video, a striking montage of lunar shots crafted by Matthew Calleja (Videocafe), complements the moody and intriguing track and showcases the band’s ability to combine mystery with lush production values and an ear for melody.

The release of Il-Bir will shortly be followed by the launch of Djun’s debut album Il-Ħlas on June 29 and 30 at Palazzo de la Salle (Society of Arts) in Valletta.

While Il-Ħlas is Djun’s debut album, the members of the band are all seasoned musicians: Justin Galea (vocals), Paul Torpiano (keyboard), Ryen Refalo (guitar), Michael Vella Zarb  (drums) and Charles Cassar (bass). Il-Ħlas will be available as a digital download and in 12-inch vinyl.

This project is supported by the Arts Council Malta – Malta Arts Fund.
