The ongoing conflict between warring parties is the modern and sad state of South Sudan.

Pope Francis and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, have prayed together for peace in South Sudan. The Pope kissed the feet of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit and of other political leaders who have been in open conflict since their country’s independence. There can be no better example of bringing peace to the war-torn country.

So let us remember South Sudan in our prayers and work for everlasting peace.
