On the University of Malta website Andrea Dibben is listed as a lecturer at the Social Policy and Social Work Department of the Faculty for Social Well-being.
During the launch of the pro-abortion coalition, Dibben, as the leader of the coalition, is quoted saying: “The Voice for Choice coalition will be campaigning for the decriminalisation of abortion and advocating for laws that ensure the health of pregnant women is protected.”
How can a lecturer at the Social Policy and Social Work Department of the Faculty for Social Well-being, who is supposed, from her chair, to promote the
well-being of all categories of people, in difficulties or not, say that she wants to campaign to ensure that the health of pregnant women is protected, while at the same time says that she, and her coalition partners, want “the decriminalisation of abortion”?
Abortion has one meaning only: the deliberate killing of an unborn child at whatever stage of development in his/
her mother’s womb. ‘Pregnant women’ means one thing only, women with a child in their wombs.
How can a lecturer in the Faculty of Social Well-being clamour for the killing of another very little human being, which the editor of the Times of Malta in his editorial on the same day of the launch of Dibben’s The Voice for Choice coalition called “murder”, and the unborn child “the weakest citizen of all”?
Dibben should note the word “citizen”. Yes, the unborn child in Malta is already a Maltese citizen at conception. The laws of Malta are tasked to protect the unborn child. That’s what Dibben should be teaching her social work students.
The Minister of the Family and his social work agency Appoġġ have the legal responsibility to protect the unborn, and the shadow minister of the Family and the Unborn Child, and his party, have vowed to do the same.
Dibben added: “Voice for Choice had launched its campaign to strive for a society based on equal respect and justice free from discrimination for all genders and minority groups.”
She made a statement full of contradictions. Are not about 7,000 unborn children in Malta every year a minority as well? She and her coalition partners are blatantly discriminating against all unborn children and effectively clamouring for their death. Is that justice?
Planned Parenthood, the abortion factory in the US and elsewhere, has arrived at a stage where after procuring abortions they harvest pre-born baby body parts to sell them to university and industrial laboratories for experimental purposes. They created a market for unborn children as slaves. So callous.
Dibben said further: “We want to add pressure to ensure that women have access to reproductive healthcare and that our reproductive laws are on the same level as international ones.”
Probably one day, not necessarily tomorrow, but maybe tomorrow, Dibben will start quoting word by word the details of Planned Parenthood’s “international level of reproductive healthcare for women” with total disregard to the rights of unborn children.
Is she aware of the barbaric acts of abortionist and butcher Kermit Gosnell in the US who for a long time has been terminating deliberately, and savagely, the lives of innocent and voiceless unborn children? Dr Gosnell is now in jail, paying for his wicked and atrocious acts on unborn children.
Dibben added: “We are here to ensure every person is helped and protected, whatever their choice.”
Considering that Dibben did not make one single reference to the unborn child in her speech it is clear that in her, and her partners’ minds, the unborn child is not even a human being, not even until the moment of birth.
How very close to Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York who, lately, pompously signed legislation to permit abortions until the very last minute the unborn child is still in the mother’s womb. He even had the cheek to celebrate the signing. Again, how callous.
Lawmakers in the states of Georgia and Tennessee have advanced Bills that would ban abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat
Bernard Nathanson, an obstetrician and gynaecologist, was the former director of New York City’s Centre for Reproductive and Sexual Health. With others he succeeded in introducing abortion in the US in 1973. With the development of ultrasound in the 1970s, he had the chance to observe a real-time abortion. He is often quoted as saying “abortion is the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States”.
He wrote the book Aborting America, where he first exposed what he called “the dishonest beginnings of the abortion movement”. He added: “I am one of those who helped usher in this barbaric age.” Nathanson states that from the moment of conception, there exists “a self-directed force of life that, if not interrupted, will lead to the birth of a human baby”.
I feel that Dibben is not doing any good to the social work profession and the Faculty of Social Well-being of the University of Malta. Surely she is not simply only promoting an academic argument.
One of her partners in the coalition openly supported the UK Abortion Support Network, which lately promised all kinds of material and even financial assistance to women from Malta to do abortions abroad.
To boot, former EU Judge Giovanni Bonello said lately that “it is not illegal for women to seek abortions outside of Malta”. What sweet music to Dibben’s coalition. To me that’s abduction leading to abortion. It should be so to all social workers.
In the US, the judges of the Supreme Court effectively introduced abortion in the US in 1973 in the Roe vs Wade case. Since then about 60 million unborn children in the US perished. What a holocaust.
The Malta Unborn Child Movement has had social workers working for the rights, protection and development of the unborn child already for 20 years. They have also tried twice, unsuccessfully, the last time two years ago, to convince the Faculty of Social Well-being to introduce studies on the dignity, rights, protection and the wholesome development of the unborn child.
Notwithstanding the above I appeal to Dibben and her coalition partners so that in so far as they are really “advocating for laws that ensure the health of pregnant women is protected”, they join the coalition made up of the Malta Pro-Life Movement, the government and the Opposition who, on February 3, during the manifestation in favour of life at the Oratory of St John’s Cathedral, organised by the MUC, resolved to expand and strengthen services for pregnant women in difficulties. If they don’t join in, the Faculty of Social Well-being should.
Dar Ġużeppa Debono in Gozo, the Gift of Life Foundation, two organisations in the MUCM, and the Malta Life Network Foundation have been very active helping pregnant women in difficulties for many years already.
It has been reported lately that in the US, lawmakers in the states of Georgia and Tennessee have advanced Bills that would ban abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. The measures are being seen as the latest in a rolling series of state-level laws on life issues across the US.
I think if, by some strange reasoning like we are having now, and a multiple of subterfuges like we had in 2016 and 2018, abortion is introduced in Malta by one of the oligarchs, it will not take decades to take the law back to its original form, as has happened in the US. It will probably take just one decade, even less. The needed structures for a reversal seem to be there, also among the oligarchs, only to be used.
