The presence among us of a smug atheist does not worry a dog, the only animal who loves you more than it loves itself. But the Babylon of hate, bitter and burning antagonism of the Catholic Church, with all its warts and wrinkles, can certainly worry it to death because they go diametrically opposed to its strongest identity – unconditional love.
This kind can be cast out in no way except by prayer and fasting – Mark 9:28. So here is a nice down-to-earth prayer:
“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who come to you and those who stay away, especially the enemies of the Church and those who are recommended to you.”
This prayer was not coined by me but is found in a Żabbar playing field.
