Heritage Malta is organising a lecture about environmental data gathered at Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum.

The Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum in Paola is a complex of interconnecting rock-cut chambers set on three levels.

Its significant archaeological value has earned it the prestige of being included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

On Friday people can hear about environmental data that has been integrated in a 3D model in order to create simulations.

The talk A new age in the conservation of cultural heritage sites: computer modelling of the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum environment will be presented by Pierre Sandre Farrugia, and will focus on a recent project that was carried out by the University of Malta in collaboration with Heritage Malta.

The talk, in English, will kick off at 6pm, at the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Visitor Centre in Qrendi.

Admission is free, but seating would be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
