BUSUTTIL. On February 18, at his residence in Ta’ Xbiex, MICHAEL, architect and former Director of Public Works, passed away peacefully at the age of 96, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss, his beloved wife Olympia, née Formosa, his children Nadya and Tony Aquilina, Rudolph and Anna, née Wetz, Mark, Anne Marie and Conrad Thake, his grandchildren Sarah and Conrad Cassar Torregiani, Lisa and Malcolm Falzon, Christopher, Edward and Andrew and his great-grandchildren Ben, Peter, Nick and Max, in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Wednesday, February 20, at 2pm, at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
FABRI. On February 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, LAWRENCE of Vittoriosa, residing in Ħamrun, aged 92, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lily, his sons Brian and his wife Norma, Ray and his wife Anna and Simon and his wife Miriam, his grandchildren Gabrielle, Karla, Aimee, Gemima, Noah and Jean-Marc, his great-grandchildren Sofia, Francesca, Henry, Robin and Evie, his brother Louis, his in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, February 21, at 2pm, for St Dominic and the Blessed Virgin church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Vittoriosa cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
THORNTON. On February 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, SAVIOUR of Gudja, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his children Carmen, Freddy, Geoffrey and his wife Cathie, his grandchild Tassia, in-laws and their respective families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, February 23, at 7.45am, for St Mary’s parish church, Gudja, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Gudja cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
VELLA. The Lord called to His side JULIAN, of High Ridge, Madliena, aged 70. His wife Marie Josette, his son Silvain and wife Audrey, grandchildren Ileana and Francesca, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends will be missing the genuine charisma of a most loving, caring and lovable husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, February 23, at 8.30am, for Tal-Ibraġ parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Instead of flowers, donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Inspire, Bulebel, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Special thanks go to the staff at the emergency of St James Hospital, Sliema, and Mater Dei Hospital.
