Not only will a 19-year-old Greek hooligan have to keep away from attending a match with his favourite team, but he'll also have to be in the local police precinct at the time of the contest.

A court in the northern Greek city of Volos ordered the Olympiakos Volos supporter on Thursday to report to the police station two hours before the local team plays, whether home or away, and not to leave until two hours after the match.

The penalty, which takes effect immediately and for a time period to be decided later by the court, was due to the hooligan invading the pitch in 2014 when he was just 14-years-old in a local derby between Olympiakos Volos and Nikis Volos.

A lawyer for the teenager complained that the penalty was strict as his client works for a fast food restaurant making deliveries and during the matches has a heavy workload meaning he will lose his job.

One other hooligan from the same incident, now 30, was sentenced to 30 days in prison.
