A mother nervously smokes a midnight cigarette and fights back the tears, as her husband squeezes her hand.  Hours later, a bomb rips through their apartment block.

Local band The Travellers have drawn inspiration from the horrors of war for the music video to their latest single Ersaq fil-Qrib.

The heart-wrenching video tells the story of a couple and their young son trying to go about their lives as war rages outside. The scene is set in what looks like modern-day Syria. In the video, the family has dinner together, the parents bathe the boy and then read him a bedside story, as they try to keep up the façade of normality.

It all ends tragically, of course.

The video was produced by Maka Visuals and stars Sharon Bezzina, Reece Vella and Noah Haber in the three family roles.
