An annual treat for children from underprivileged backgrounds did not quite turn out as expected after four of the taxis taking them out were involved in a bumper-to-bumper collision.

The four taxis crashed in Triq il-Labour, Marsa.

Every year, various white taxis take children from homes on a taxi ride and to different sites such as Esplora Science centre. About 70 taxis were involved, with around 300 children being taken out for the day.

The children were on the way to Splash and Fun during the Malta Annual Charity Ride when the incident took place.

TVM reported that three children and one adult were injured, however, police said they were still looking into the case.
