The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) has recently published the 10th issue of L-Għażla magazine. The main purpose of the magazine is to provide the public with information on MCCAA’s latest work and achievements, as well as to educate consumers on their rights and responsibilities.

The 10th issue includes a real case from the Consumer Claims Tribunal concerning a wedding dress and a list of public warning statements that the Office for Consumer Affairs at the MCCAA has issued against traders who have not honoured the tribunal’s decisions.

Warnings on dangerous products found on the market can also be found in the publication.

Readers will find information on the MCCAA’s new corporate identity, which symbolises communication between the authority and Maltese and Gozitan citizens. The new MCCAA website offers new online services such as the Flag a Concern Form, which consumers can use to report businesses engaging in illegal practices or practices that decrease their consumer rights.

This year’s magazine features an article on the winners of the fourth edition of Premju Servizz bi Tbissima, an initiative that reflects the importance the MCCAA gives to the business sector.

The award recognises sellers who strengthen their relationships with customers and also encourages and promotes business practices that are beneficial for consumers.

Information on the recently updated mobile app Konsumatur can also be found in this year’s issue.

L-Għażla magazine may be viewed online in both English and Maltese under ‘Publications’ on the MCCAA’s website www.mccaa.org.mt.
