Sopranos Christabelle Vella and Celine Abela, together with pianist John Anthony Fsadni, will be performing a piano and vocal recital at St Augustine Monastery, Valletta, today at noon.

The recital, Il Mio Dolce Ardor, will feature excerpts from Handel’s Messiah and Haydn’s Die Schopfung, Caccini’s Ave Maria and romantic songs by Alessandro Scarlatti, Gluck and Paisiello.

Fsadni will also be playing the first movement of Jan Vaclav Vorisek’s Sonata in B-flat minor Op. 20. A free guided tour of the monastery museum will follow.

Tickets can be obtained from the venue half an hour before the concert begins. Proceeds from the event will go to the restoration project of the Augustinian Monastery. For more information, call 7968 0952 or e-mail baroccomalta@gmail.com.
